ESG worked with Ryan Companies on the design of this new student housing facility on the historic University of St. Thomas campus. The project consists of 260 beds for second-year students, designed suite-style in pods.

The architecture of the building bridges the primarly Kasota stone collegiate gothic buildings to the south with the red brick clad St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel and other primarily red brick buildings on the north side of campus.

Student amenities include a main level club room and student lounge, student kitchens and study rooms, outdoor plazas and a green roof. Frey Residence Hall is the first building in its category in the Midwest to achieve a LEED V4 Platinum certification, and only the sixth building in its category in the country to achieve this rating..
