Accolade Minneapolis transforms a former industrial site into an urban student housing community adjacent to the University of Minnesota campus. The building weaves together exterior and interior materials into a “quilt” that reflects its heritage, campus proximity, and surrounding park, while engaging the street with a first-floor mixed-use retail space. Inside, refined interiors combine industrial textures with warm wood tones and layered materials to create approachable, comfortable spaces. “Stay Golden”, a key phrase noticeable upon arrival, celebrates campus culture while flexible amenities, such as the dual-purpose club rooms and semi-private nooks, support social, study, and recreational life. The top-floor architecture maximizes skyline views, creating layered experiences. The design is optimistic, connected, and inviting – an environment for students to call home.
