Project Architect / Project Manager

ESG currently has an opening for a Project Architect/Project Manager with a minimum of eight years of professional experience, competent in the detailing and technical documentation of project design, coordination of building systems with consultants, confirmation of conformance with all applicable codes and interface with municipal building departments and other governing agencies to coordinate approvals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop design, construction documents and specifications for projects
  • Interpret design concepts and translate them into workable construction systems
  • Evaluate alternatives to develop cost effective solutions
  • Maintain quality technical and design control
  • Develop construction details and research architectural materials and systems
  • Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation
  • Work independently or with design team to complete projects with fast-paced schedules
  • Coordinate with Clients and Consultants and oversee accurate and timely completion of construction documents
  • Research and coordinate materials and products for project specifications
  • Implement all local, state and federal applicable building codes, constructability and architectural standards of practice
  • Conduct site observations and prepare site inventory documentation
  • Participate in all aspects of construction administration related activities (in office and on site)
  • Lead/Mentor production staff

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in architecture and professional license
  • 8+ years of Project Architect experience within the architecture and construction field
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems and site requirements
  • Ability to provide efficient and elegant design solutions
  • High level of conceptual creativity, innovative thinking and problem solving
  • Strong graphical and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to have a solid working relationship with clients

Architectural Job Captain

ESG currently has an opening for an Architectural Job Captain that will serve on a variety of project types, and will be primarily responsible for project documentation and coordination. The Job Captain supports the Project Architect and Project Manager and guides the extended team to create complete design and construction documents. This role facilitates communication between the project team and consultants and is responsible for project detailing, drafting, quality assurance, and scheduling. The candidate will be charged with assuring that the project meets building codes, budget, and all necessary deadlines in order to fully meet client expectations. We are looking for someone to join our highly creative, collaborative design group that is passionate about fostering our team spirit and growing with us.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of architectural experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and function comfortably, gain trust and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including consultants, contractors and the ESG project team.
  • Strong background in base building and interiors projects, including LEED-certified projects.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures and experience resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done.
  • Required proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

Senior Specification Writer

This position requires a specification writer to provide support for the discipline of architecture and coordination support with civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and plumbing. Position includes preparation of specifications in coordination with project managers and maintenance of the architectural specific master specifications.  Also includes a quality control and quality assurance role to review building plans for design standards, code compliance with state regulations and local ordinances.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project specifications
  • Develop three-part specifications from narrative, as the project develops
  • Work with project teams and review plans to prepare specifications
  • Review specifications against drawings for completeness
  • Assist project teams in resolving problems related to the use and installation of building materials and products that arise during design and construction
  • Attain a broad knowledge of building codes, structures, basic construction law and materials standards to others. Stay current on product development, new materials, and industry trends
  • Maintain and update office master specifications
  • Assist with quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Review building plans for design standards, code compliance, state regulations, and local ordinances
  • Identify inadequacies or plan defects in multi-family home projects
  • Perform simple calculations for the sizing of building structural members
  • Responsible for writing, analyzing plans and diagrams to determine material and material processing specifications
  • Use SpecLink and conform to ESG standards
  • May be asked to use Revit and related software.

student interior design intern

Primary Responsibilities:
The Student Interior Design Intern’s primary responsibilities will be the organization and upkeep of the ESG Interiors resource library.  Additional responsibilities will include assisting other Design Team members with design or production tasks, consulting with sales representatives, updating our sales representative directory, ordering samples, researching product information and pricing, and creating finish boards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Sophomore or Junior in an accredited Interior Design program.
