Since joining ESG more than a decade ago, Aaron has been transforming urban environments in the Twin Cities and across the United States into vibrant neighborhoods through work that elevates expectations for signature architecture, urban place-making and streetscape vitality. His award-winning mixed-use multifamily residential developments have reinvigorated downtown neighborhoods. His landmark hospitality projects, including those incorporating the adaptive reuse of historic structures (such as the Foshay Tower), have re-imagined hospitality in the 21st century.
Aaron’s signature restaurants redefine nightlife. His innovative housing projects for higher-education institutions combine contemporary style and amenities with living and gathering spaces that support learning. His senior- and memory-care facilities establish new benchmarks in the design of healthcare residences. Involved in all phases of design, even traveling with clients to research and develop concepts, Aaron balances his infectious passion for creating singular projects with a firm commitment to meeting client budgets and exceeding their expectations.
As President, Principal, and Shareholder at ESG, Aaron has developed and implemented a successful delivery model for diverse complex projects ranging from $500,000 to $200,000,000 in scope. In his work, Aaron integrates the urban-design principles on which ESG was founded. Context-sensitive architecture, mixed uses along pedestrian-friendly and transit-oriented streetscapes, the careful insertion of contemporary uses with historic buildings, and residential density are implicit in projects that “create urban environments that help build out cities and reinvigorate us every day,” he says.
