ESG kept the exposed brick, original wood beams, open ceilings and industrial columns of the former warehouse as the backdrop for one of its most distinctive restaurants in the popular North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. The addition of salvaged barn-wood siding, reclaimed wood floors, antiquated mirrors and a custom zinc bar stretching in front of the open kitchen lend Bar La Grassa its European, relaxed atmosphere. Diners enjoy the restaurant’s homemade pastas on Italian marble tables. Globe lighting discovered via local architectural salvage combined with candlelight enhances the atmosphere. Large antique accordion doors close off a private dining area for groups.
